The Climate and Solidarity Day in 10.10.2024 started with keynote speaker, executive consulting on sustainability Hanna Liimatainen, who is also Tiimiakatemia´s alumnus. Hanna´s message was clear and kindly demanding:
“Every single choice and action counts. The sustainability transition requires the actions of 200,000 ordinary people. What is your deed?”
She also pointed out that:
“Climate- and resource-wise living is inspiring and balanced life.” To make the transition possible, we need hope and action.
After the inspiring speech we started to play Climate Action simulation game to understand more about the impacts of climate change. In the afternoon we had three different workshop concerning linear and circular economy, dynamics of immigration and climate justice. Few weeks after the event, we wanted to know what kind of feelings the participants´ had about this TEAMIT+ event.
“Hanna’s speech was cool, and it did surprise me how much I didn’t know about these topics. It was also fun to see participants from other countries, even via zoom. The opening speech and closing workshops were the most instructive. Nice, that workshops had a variety of topics.”

“The Climate Action Simulation game was very interesting and helped to understand the effectiveness of different measures in lowering the rise in temperature. The day clearly make us realize the state and severity of climate change. After the event I have eaten vegetarian food instead of meat several times (Actually 5 times, which is more often than in the last 22 years combined).”

“I liked the fact that we were able to discuss important issues together. I was surprised how well the teampreneurs threw themselves into the morning Climate Action Simulation and made bold speeches in English. The day was instructive for me and certainly also for all participants. It surely was an eye-opener to the current situation in the world.”
Anni, Climate ambassador
“It was a really nice day, dealing with an important topic. Above all, the atmosphere was educational and encouraging. I especially liked the Climate Action Simulation game because it allowed me to see the changes produced by my own decisions in a concrete way. At the same time, I was surprised by how small the effects of even really big changes are. The day stimulated me and my own thinking a lot that we really need to start making changes, and quite quickly if we want to reach the climate goals, even at the Finnish level.
